The Intelligent Valve Monitor (IVM) is a monitoring and data logging device for use with K-Rain's 6000 series sewage valves. The IVM will watch the valve's cycle, and log all activity. Designed to be retro-fitted onto existing systems, the only modification that needs to be made to a valve is the replacement of the original disc/stem assembly with our supplied disc/stem assembly; a simple, two minute process.
Because of the retro-fit design, the device can also be very portable. A contractor can install an IVM temporarily to monitor a system that is acting up, and later remove the device and bring it to another job. A single unit can easily be configured to monitor 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 outlet valves, eliminating the need for a different unit for each valve type. The IVM can be further tailored to an indivual system by setting various parameters such as minimum and maximum on time, and the maximum allowable error percentage.
The period over which the IVM watches the valve can be adjusted, and the unit calculates percentage and average on-times for each outlet per inlet based on this period. Errors and warnings are stored in an event log, including the date and time that these errors occurred. All of this information can be viewed on-site on the IVM's LCD screen, which also provides visual indication of any active outlets.

Battery powered, the unit requires no external connections, and no extra wires or cables need to be run. For more permanent installs, the unit has the option to be powered externally, and a set of alarm contacts can be connected back to a panel. The IVM has a low power standby mode to conserve battery power in the field while still collecting data, and a micropower shut-down mode in order to maximize shelf life during storage.
Our IVM was designed as an informational tool to provide verification that sewage treatment systems are functioning as they should. It's easy to use and easy to install, and provides valuable, accurate information without spending the time and resources to monitor the valve manually. We expect that this device will make troubleshooting much easier, and much more efficient.
