Engineering Technologies Canada Ltd. (ETC) has an immediate opening for a Civil or Environmental Technologist. This is a full-time position offering a significant level of responsibility and the opportunity for advancement you could only get in a smaller but fast-growing company.
Based out of Stratford, Prince Edward Island, you will work on projects throughout PEI and New Brunswick.
You will be involved in several exciting and rapidly developing fields of Environmental Engineering including:
- On-site sewage assessments.
- Innovative, attached-growth biofilter sewage treatment technologies utilizing sand, peat moss, absorbent foam or textile fabric.
- Appropriate and alternative sewer servicing options for urban-fringe and rural communities.
- Wastewater re-use through land-based disposal and irrigation systems.
- Environmental site assessments.
The successful candidate should possess a diploma in Civil, Construction or Environmental Engineering Technology and be proficient in the use of AutoCAD. Good writing skills and proficiency with common desktop application software are essential. This is a Junior level position however candidates with previous work experience in one or more of the following areas will be given priority.
- On-site sewage treatment and disposal system assessment and design.
- Computer assisted drafting (CAD) using AutoCad.
- Preparation of maps using GIS software (ie. Mapinfo or Arcview.
- Soils investigations (test pits or geotechnical drilling).
- Inspection of municipal sewer and/or water services.
- Preparation of cost estimates.
- Construction inspection.
- Preparation of specifications.
- Environmental site assessments, site remediation.
You should be open-minded, self-motivated, with excellent communication skills. You thrive in a work environment where your suggestions and ideas are encouraged and taken seriously. You are an “intra-preneur” and may enjoy participating in company business development efforts.
