The Civil Engineering Department specializes in on-site sewage treatment and disposal and offers geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering and hydro geological services. At ETC we design and apply solutions that meet engineering and long-term environmental requirements.
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department specializes in land use planning, environmental assessments, health research, recreation planning, forestry management, agricultural management, and map production. Whether you would like help with map production, help with undertaking a study, or help establishing your own GIS environment, ETC will promise you prompt, professional service.
The Linux/Electronics/Electrical Engineering Department specializes in embedded microcontroller and embedded Linux processor based products and design. With a strong emphasis on Linux and Open source, we also provide related IT support where appropriate.
The three departments are tied together with a common thread of environmental engineering, with the GIS providing analytical tools for environmental assessments and the electronics engineering designing products which are for civil/environmental engineering use.
ETC has demonstrated leadership in engineering. We were first in the Maritime provinces to combine GIS mapping data with a comprehensive field and laboratory program to assess on-site sewage servicing options for a growing community. In Prince Edward Island we have incorporated water-conservation strategies into the design of on-site sewage treatment systems and designed low-cost electronic monitoring devices for wastewater flow analysis. To facilitate geotechnical analysis of various projects on the Charlottetown waterfront, ETC has made use of a unique historical infill map developed just for this purpose.
